In the simplest terms, Design Thinking is “a formal method for practical, creative resolution of problems or issues, with the intent of an improved future result.” It’s a methodology for actualizing your concepts and ideas.
The Design Thinking process first defines the problem and then implements the solutions, always with the needs of the user demographic at the core of concept development. This process focuses on needs finding, understanding, creating, thinking, and doing. At the core of this process is a bias towards action and creation: by creating and testing something, you can continue to learn and improve upon your initial ideas.
Through the Design Thinking process, participants will be building landscape models using LEGO bricks, giving them meaning through story-making, and playing out various possible scenarios – a process which deepens understanding and sharpens insight.
